역시 선진국 영국은 우리보다 앞서 있군요 ㅎ 

아이들을 언어가 뒤쳐지지 않게 기르는 것이 중요하군요 ㅎ 

성장기 언어능력이 아이들의 미래를 결정짓는 요소가 됨을 확인했습니다. 

BBC에서는 이를 기사화 하면서 미래의 아이들은 프로그램을 통해 

뒤처지는 일이 없기를 희망합니다. 

우리 아이들의 미래가 걸린 일인데 결코 간과해서 안되겠습니다. 

선생님들이 학교 이전의 교육에 신경쓸 수 없으므로... 

중요한 것은 부모님의 역할이겠죠... 

학교에서 집중할 수 있는 능력도 결국은 언어능력에 의해 좌우된다는 사실 ㅋ

북아일랜드 초등학교 선생님들은 언어능력이 딸리는 신입생 아이들 숫자에 주의를 기울인다. 

Primary school teachers in Northern Ireland are concerned about the number of children starting school who struggle with their speech. 

90% 이상의 선생님들을 조사한 Save the Children에 따르면 언어늘력이 좋지 못한 촏등학교 입학생들은 뒤쳐질 수 있다고 말했다. 

More than 90% of teachers surveyed by Save the Children said children who start primary one with delayed speech and language skills can fall behind. 

그들의 삼분의 일은 초등학교 시작하는 학생들이 가끔 완전한문장을 하는데 어려움을 느낀다고 말했다. 

Three quarters said school starters often struggle to use full sentences. 

조사에서는 또한 가난한 집의 아이들이 언어를 개발하는 데 헤매기 쉽다고 말했다. 

The survey also found children from poorer families are likely to struggle with language development.

자체 연구에서 세이브 더 칠드런은 몇몇의 북아일랜드의 가장 불우한 집단에서 "초등학교에 입학하는 40% 의 아이들이 스피치, 언어 그리고 소통의 어려움에 있다" 는 것을 발견했다. 

In its own research, Save the Children found that in some of Northern Ireland's most disadvantaged communities, "40% of children entering primary school demonstrate speech, language and communication difficulties - and those who struggle in toddlerhood may never catch up".

* 70%의 선생님은 그들의 학급의 아이들은 단순한 설명에도 이해도가 떨어진다고 말했다 

* 70% of teachers said children in their class struggled to understand simple instructions 

대표는 현재 모든 아이들과 젊은 사람들이 인생에서 최고의 시작을 하고 교육의 불평등을 줄이기 위한 목적을 가지고 있는 초기 정부 프로그램에 관한 견해를 찾고 있다. 

The executive is currently seeking views on the draft Program for Government, which aims to give all children and young people the best start in life and aims to reduce educational inequality. 

단체는 만약에 프로그램이 이른 년도의 아이들에게 공급하는 것이 중요하다고 판단되면, 이 조사는 곧 선생님들이 "학교 입학 전 연령의 아이들에게 자라나는 과정에서의 성취 격차를 막는 더 많은 집중과 투자가 필요하다." 고 생각한다는 것을 보여준다. 

The charity says that while the program recognizes that early years provision is critical, this survey shows teachers think there needs to be a "greater focus and investment into pre-school years to stop the achievement gap from developing." 

세이브더칠드런 북아일랜드 대표 피터 브라이슨은 "대표는 어릴 때 프로그램을 공급하는 것의 역할에 대해 인정했는데, 교육적 성취격차를 줄일 수 있고 그것이 정부 안건의 일부인 것임을 확인시켜줄 것이다." 라고 말했다. 

Peter Bryson, Save the Children's Head of Northern Ireland, said: "The executive has acknowledged the role that early years provision could make in reducing the educational achievement gap and it's encouraging to see this is part of the government's agenda." 

미스터 브라이슨은 설문조사는 존재하는 이슈와 선생님들이 더 많은 자원이 필요함을 느낀 스냅사진이었다고 말했다. 

Mr Bryson said the survey was snapshot of existing issues, and that teachers felt more resources were required. 

"선생님들은 우리는 우리의 일을 통해 아는것이, 언어가 뒤쳐진 채로 학교에 입학하는 아이들이 있다면 이것은 아이들의 미래에 영향을 주며, 그들에게 불공평한 불이익을 주는 것이다" 라고 우리에게 말하고 있다. 

"Teachers are telling us that when children start primary one with speech and language delays, we know from our work that this does have an impact on a child's future, putting them at an unfair disadvantage," he added.
